ABOUT About Vogler Lake
Peace and Quiet
Vogler Lake is a rustic property with a few camping areas around an 18 acre fly fishing lake. The Baker Lake area is just up the road and there is great outdoor fun available throughout the year.
Fly Fishing
Winter in the North Cascades
Back in 2000 the Game Dept. changed the fishing rules to Fly Fish / Catch and Release and only during the regular season. This change has made Vogler Lake one of the top fly fishing lakes in Western Washington. The Game Dept. has a boat launch area and the fly fishing is free. That public boat launch area, however, is closed at night and durring the winter.
Baker River Valley has a bounty of winter time fun. Snowmobilers can enjoy the SnowPark which leads to the glaciers. The cross country skiier will enjoy many miles of relitive flatness of Upper Baker Lake and Baker River Areas. Nature photographers may simply go native.

Lake Friends The DeMers The DeMers Family
Sandy, Jay and their son Jayson brought to the lake good conversation, fun guitar music and a remarkable story of compassion and dedication. Their dog Cory suffered from epilepsy. Please take the time to visit their website and read Cory's Story.

This family's effort is nothing short of insperational. I have dedicated a tree by the lake in memory of Cory and will post pics of the plank as soon as I get it made and installed on the tree.
Lake Friends
Over the years I have met many great folk who have come to Vogler Lake. Some have planned to come here and others have simply stumbled across it. This page will allow me to pass on to you the stories of those that have found a little peace and quiet on this property.
If you have been here and would like to share your pics and stories of this lake, this page is where they will be posted.

Fly Fishing ReportPage 12 The quality of the lake water is excellent but the oxygen levels can drop off and the fish get sluggish at times. I have looked into putting in an Aeration Fountain here at the lake to help keep the O2 levels up. If you would like to donate a system to the lake, I will look after it and pay the power bill on it.
Fly Fishing at Vogler Lake
This Lake is normaly well stocked with rainbow trout and has a good hold over count each year. The size, type and number of the stock varies from year to year. Over the last few years, the average size that has been caught is between 17-20 inches.
I keep a sharp eye out for poachers and others who are just clueless about the rules. This effort has helped keep this lake one of the most productive catch and release lakes in this area. If you're looking for an online guide to WDFW publications, rules and regulations, visit their home page "Here" !
Over the season, I will try to pass on information as to the hatches, fishing activity and conditions. In general, these are well fed fish and they enjoy overlapping hatches most days. Terrestrials work well here as do Woolies (brown). This is a shallow lake and so the shadowed areas of the lake are worth working. Dawn and Dusk fishing are the best times!
